The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is one of the most renowned competitions in the spirits industry, bringing together international experts to assess and distinguish the best products. This year the competition received nearly 5,500 entries, including 200 in the brandy/cognac category. The Double Gold medal is awarded unanimously by the 70 judges to spirits of exceptional quality, asserting their excellence and creating a real distinction for the finest in their category.

About Maison Bache-Gabrielsen and its Hors d’Âge cognac: Founded in 1905 by Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, Maison Bache-Gabrielsen is a world-renowned family business specialising in the production of high-quality cognacs. With a heritage of over a century and expertise handed down from generation to generation, Bache-Gabrielsen is renowned for its commitment to craftsmanship, tradition and innovation.

Bache-Gabrielsen’s Hors d’Âge cognac embodies the very essence of French craftsmanship and know-how. Jean-Philippe Bergier, the House’s cellar master for over 30 years, rigorously selects the finest eaux-de-vie for this 100% Grande Champagne cognac, which is aged for several decades in French oak barrels.

Having already won several awards in previous years, including ‘World Best Cognac’ in 2021 and ‘World Best Superior Quality’ in 2015 at the World Cognac Awards, as well as ‘Best in Class’ at the International World Spirit Competition in 2010, this exceptional Hors d’Âge cognac continues to win over the judges, testifying to the consistent quality of Maison Bache-Gabrielsen.

On the nose, it reveals rich, delicate aromas of honey, dark berries and a light woodiness. Its velvety texture on the palate offers a perfect balance between fruit, floral and woody notes. A very long finish with notes of red fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg make this the jewel in the crown of the House.

This latest award demonstrates the team’s tireless work and ongoing commitment to their passion for creating exceptional cognacs.
